I bought a multi-purpose tactical shovel from a shop advertising through Facebook. You can get one by just searching for tactical shovel images on Google. Then go to the website. I would suggest buying it from Aliexpress, the Chinese Amazon. It costs around $20. I paid way too much for it.

I complain about being uninformed in times of emergencies. Foreigners are pretty much left behind when it comes to natural disasters. I can understand why, but I wish they’d at least put a little effort towards allowing us to stay alive in this country.
I find a 24 hour big supermarket with CHEAP FOOD! And, I visit a real builders type home center with all kinds of fun things to look at. Join me as I do some window shopping.
Speaking Japanese. Going shopping, taking a taxi, ordering in a restaurant? No problem. Going to the bank. Problem. Going to the bank and being asked to use the video teller booth. Bigger problem. This was a challenge, and I conquered.
Today was a particularly difficult day. I had to call my insurance company to cancel and get paid on a policy, deal with the bank password system, and transfer some money…ALL IN JAPANESE.! I’m so tired of living in an other language.
