I take you on my commute from home in Mikage to two of the colleges I teach at in Gakuen-toshi (College Town.) It’s a long video because I wanted to show the little things I think about and notice while walking.
The rock quarry I mentioned is for granite. It’s considered one of the most valuable types of granite in Japan and possibly the world. Here is an article which gives more information. Translate it into English http://www.kokusanboseki.com/producti…
As for the house in the video: It belongs to the president of an old construction company and not directly related to granite rock, as far as I know.
I can’t really be bothered looking up facts, but if I can share what I THINK I know, maybe it will start a conversation that leads to a better understanding. Otherwise I would have to sit down and write everything out. Boring.
ALWAYS RECHECK my facts. I’m not teaching anything about Japan’s history or culture. I am only sharing my thoughts about living in Japan and what I understand. If I’m wrong, leave a comment and correct me. I’ll do my best to let everyone know in a later video.
